Walking up a storm!

An intrepid 21 walkers, from school to retirement age, trod the Clarendon Way on 22 September. Unfortunately, this year’s annual community trek was visited by the worst weather we’ve experienced! The team that opted for the first half had it easy, but after lunch it rained constantly … so everyone was soaked through by the time they reached Salisbury.

Even under a veil of rain, the views were glorious, people chatted animatedly, the baskets of apples left at back gates were appreciated, and some slightly doubtful walkers found they could rise to the challenge. Congratulations to the seven who went all the way!

Thank you so much to the many people who sponsored the walkers in aid of our Building for Life appeal. Including very generous match funding, which doubled the sponsorship, and gift aid, the grand total was an astounding £13,200.
