For your tomorrow we gave our today

The contract between the generations was powerful in St Paul’s on Remembrance Sunday. Local Beavers, Cubs and Scouts were part of a congregation of more than 200 people at the 9.30 am service. They stood alongside former soldiers wearing campaign medals and a mother whose son is undergoing military training.

As the ceremonial flags dipped and the last post sounded, the sacrifices of the past were honoured and remembered with gratitude. But those prayers were intermingled with petitions for the struggles of today and real hope for peace in the future.
