24-mile trek in the sunshine

Another wonderful community event – of sweating it out together over 24 miles of glorious countryside – to raise money for St Paul’s while enjoying each other’s company. Although much of Winchester and surrounds was gridlocked, there was no such problem on the byways and footpaths of the Clarendon Way.

Peter Seal masterminded timings and kept the pace brisk as the group powered their way from Winchester to Salisbury Cathedral, arriving as intended as Evensong began. Dogs were walked, hills ascended and descended, mud and barbed wire negotiated … and friendships were newly made or strengthened.

Building for Life will benefit by well over £1,000, and some of the walkers don’t even have stiff muscles to show for it!
