Talented teenagers at St Matthew’s

St Matthew’s made the perfect setting for a jewel of a concert on Saturday 23 September, compèred with panache by internationally renowned conductor Christopher Seaman.

Seven performers from, or associated with, St Paul’s treated us to a super programme, with vocal numbers from musicals such as West Side Story and instrumental pieces by Bach and Beethoven, Liszt and Elgar. Most of the musicians were in their teens, although the youngest was 11, and we also enjoyed a father-daughter duet.

(Our accompanist is definitely no longer in his teens – grateful thanks to Ian Rees, organist at St Paul’s.) Music administrator Ali Galvin did us proud.
